The Los Angeles Lakers have hired Darvin Ham as the franchise’s next head coach. Ham is the 28th head coach in Lakers franchise history.

Ham is coming over from the Milwaukee Bucks where he was an assistant coach under Mike Budenholzer from 2018-2022. Prior to Milwaukee, Ham was an assistant under Budenholzer in Atlanta from 2013-2018, and prior to that he was an assistant with the Lakers from 2011-13.
This will be Darvin Ham’s first NBA head coaching gig.
