Thoughts on Game 7 of Milwaukee Bucks vs Boston Celtics in Eastern Conference Semifinals

The Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics play in Game 7 from the TD Garden in the Eastern Conference Semifinals tomorrow (Sunday), May 15th at 2:30 PM (Central Time) with the game being nationally televised on ABC.

As I write this, Boston is a five (5) point favorite, per Bovada.

Here’s a few of my thoughts on tomorrow’s Game 7:

Even though the road team has won four of the six games in this series, it is usually worth about three points to be playing at home.

This is where tanking at the end of the regular season could hurt Milwaukee. The Bucks wanted to dodge a team that was a joke in the Brooklyn Nets. They traded off home court advantage by doing that. Those three points might matter tomorrow.

Milwaukee HAS to get better play out of their wings. Pat Connaughton has played ok, but Wesley Matthews and Grayson Allen have been awful. Also, Mike Budenholzer might want to give a thought to give 7-8 minutes a game to Jevon Carter instead of George Hill. Please notice I did not say 19 minutes, just 7-8 minutes.

Finally, Jrue Holiday has to make more than 35-percent of his shots, much more.

Giannis Antetokounmpo may very well win Game 7 by himself because he is the best player in the series, and it’s not even close. If he gets help from even just two other guys, the Bucks win game seven.

For the Celtics:

Just getting anything out of Grant Williams would be good for them, especially if Robert Williams is not playing again. Grant Williams has been bad this series.

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown take crazy shots sometimes. They have been better about sharing the ball in the second half of the season.

I have noticed Tatum starting to revert back to hero ball lately. I think this has hurt the Celtics. While he can get hot (Game 6: 46 points on 17-of-32), he can shoot his team right out of games (Game 1: 6-of-18, Game 3: 4-of-19, Game 5: 12-of-29).

Most of the shots that Tatum and Brown shoot, you can’t stop them from getting them anyways.

But the key is not to let Al Horford get off. If you let him get 8-10 clean looks from the 3-point line because you helped on Tatum and Brown, you are going to give Boston too many extra points.

Prediction:

Boston 111, Milwaukee 106.
