Tina Estrada Has Interim Label Removed, Remains as Head Coach of San José State Women’s Soccer

Tina Estrada was named the interim head coach of the San José State Spartans women’s soccer program in early February and now the interim label has been removed.

Estrada has spent the past four seasons with SJSU, most recently as Associate Head Coach.

Estrada replaces Lauren Hanson, who resigned after eight seasons at the helm and also left as the winningest coach in SJSU women’s soccer program history with a 65-62-25 (.510) career record.

“We are thankful that Tina has agreed to lead our women’s program,” SJSU Director of Athletics Jeff Konya said. “The women’s soccer team has been one of the top teams in the Mountain West during her time here and we look forward to her guiding the Spartans to more success in the upcoming fall season.”

Prior to arriving at SJSU, Estrada spent three seasons as Associate Head Coach at Saint Mary’s College from 2015-2017. Prior to her stint in Moraga, she spent six seasons as an assistant coach at DePaul University.

This will be Tina Estrada’s first head coaching gig at the Division 1 level.

Estrada played collegiately at Santa Clara University from 2004-07.

Estrada announced that Collin Audley has been hired to her staff as the Associate Head Coach. Audley spent the last two seasons as the head coach of the Long Island University women’s soccer program where the Sharks went 3-12-3 (.250) during his tenure.
