After the state of Illinois threw a parade on Wednesday night, the Bobby Portis goggle game is exactly how I wanted to spend my Friday night as the defending World Champion Milwaukee Bucks asserted their dominance in a 111-81 win over rival Chicago Bulls in Game 3 of the First Round in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Milwaukee now holds a 2-1 series lead.
I said earlier today that I didn’t necessarily care about the result of tonight’s game as much as I wanted to finally see the Bucks play a good and complete game for once in the series. I quickly changed my mind once the game started and I wanted the Bucks to break Chicago’s spirits.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was quietly productive tonight as he finished with 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds and a block.
Grayson Allen and Bobby Portis were absolutely incredible tonight. You have to give both of them a ton of credit. It was obvious that Milwaukee needed their shotmaking threats to step up with Khris Middleton out and the two of them stepped up BIG time!
Bobby Portis finished with 18 points and 16 rebounds and nailed 4-of-8 from 3-point range. Never make a Buck bleed his own blood.
Grayson Allen finished with a playoff career-high 22 points on 8-of-12 from the field and 5-of-7 from 3-point range. I don’t think Chicago fans were happy to see this performance tonight. It was great to see Grayson have this type of performance. He deserves to do this on their floor for all of the crap he’s taken since that foul.
Jrue Holliday had a significantly better game tonight than he did in Game 2. Holiday finished with 16 points, six assists and six rebounds with a steal and a block. Jrue played defense like a man possessed and I absolutely loved watching it.
Pat Connaughton finished with 11 points, four rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block. He played a really solid 20 minutes tonight. He only hit on 2-of-7 from 3-point range, but I was really happy to see him knock those two down because Connaughton had been struggling from 3-point range the last week or so and I’m hoping that’ll give him some confidence and get him going a bit.
I sure hope that the Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers social media teams troll the Chicago Bulls tonight after the crap the Bulls posted on Wednesday. I mean, seriously, with the recent history of domination by Wisconsin teams over Illinois teams, it would be a wise choice for the Illinois teams to just zip it.
Game 4 from the United Center will be on Sunday, April 24th. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM (Central Time) and will be nationally televised on ABC.
