The UW-Milwaukee Panthers (9-8, 2-0 Horizon) come back from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Northern Kentucky Norse (6-17, 1-5 Horizon), 5-3, at Franklin Field in Franklin, Wisconsin this afternoon.
Riley Frey picked up the win for UWM to improve his record to 3-1 on the season, while Mike Edwards picked up his first save of the season.
Frey went eight innings, allowing three hits, three runs, and one walk, but did strikeout 10 NKU batters.
The Panthers offensively hit six doubles on the day. They had nine hits in the game.
Ty Olejnik and Nate DeYoung each went 2-for-4 at the plate, respectively.
DeYoung, Connor Goodman, Zach Nogalski, and Jack Thelen each picked up an RBI.
Milwaukee and Northern Kentucky will square off in game two of the three game series tomorrow, April 2nd, at 2:00 PM (Central Time) at Franklin Field.
