Wisconsin Badgers Forward Ben Carlson Enters Transfer Portal

Wisconsin Badgers forward Ben Carlson has entered the transfer portal.

Carlson missed most of his freshman season in 2020-21 due to a back injury, in 2021-22 Carlson averaged 1.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 9.1 minutes per game.

Carlson was a 4-Star recruit from Woodbury, Minnesota.

I’m disappointed he has decided to transfer because I felt he was one of those players that would make that “jump” from his sophomore year to junior year.

I thought that Carlson’s role would expand and would be a big part of the future. I was wrong. Best of luck to him, though.

The 2022-23 roster will now be without Brad Davison and Chris Vogt due to graduation, Matthew Mors and now Ben Carlson have entered the transfer portal. Now we’ll have to wait on Johnny Davis’ decision.

Sophomore Johnny Davis will announce on Thursday afternoon whether he’s staying at UW or headed to the NBA. That announcement will be made on ESPN’s NBA Today — which airs from 2-3 p.m. — if you’re the reading-between-the-lines type.

The Badgers have already expressed interest in a handful of players who’ve entered the transfer portal, including Dontaie Allen (Kentucky), Nelly Cummings (Colgate), and Antonio Reeves (Illinois State), among others.
