The Santa Clara Broncos men’s basketball team officially announced some good news on Friday. Keshawn Justice will take advantage of the extra year of eligibility and will return for one final season in Santa Clara in 2022-23.
Justice became the 36th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points for SCU during the 2021-22 season and shot a career best 42.3% from beyond the arc in 2021-22. Justice currently sits at 1,180 career points in a SCU uniform.
Justice was a key factor for SCU in 2021-22 and played in 84.9% of the minutes for the Broncos during the course of the season.
Justice, a Madison, Wisconsin native, has played in 111 games, including 72 starts, in his SCU career. For his career, he’s shooting 41.1% from the field, 38.5% from 3-point range and 81.9% at the free throw line to go with 4.4 rebounds per game and 1.9 assists per game.
“This is a tremendous day for Santa Clara University,” SCU head coach Herb Sendek said. “Keshawn is a phenomenal student-athlete on and off the court, and we are so excited to have him for one more season. He proved this season that he is among the best players in the conference, and his role as both a leader and playmaker was so massive in our success this past season. We fully expect him to continue to be that type of player for us in 2022-23, and, again, we are just so excited to have him back.”
