Wisconsin Badgers Get No. 3 Seed in Midwest Region!

The Wisconsin Badgers (24-7) are going dancing! The Badgers get the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Region!

The Badgers will open up on Friday, March 18 in Milwaukee inside the Fiserv Forum against the No. 14 seeded Colgate Raiders (23-11).

I love this draw.

Colgate has won 15-games in a row, with their last loss coming on January 28 against Boston.

Wisconsin is the committee’s No. 9 overall seed, which is the highest in the Big Ten.

I’m convinced that Greg Gard intentionally lost on Friday night in the Big Ten Tournament on purpose so the Badgers could play in Milwaukee and give Johnny Davis more rest. This man’s genius knows no bounds.

This is the fifth time in program history that the Badgers have been a top-three seed.

Wisconsin is 1-0 all-time against Colgate, a 68-41 victory on November 16, 2011 inside the Kohl Center.

The winner of the No. 3 Wisconsin/No. 14 Colgate game will face the winner of the No. 6 LSU/No. 11 Iowa State winner on Sunday.

Here’s an interesting nugget on the Badgers: UW last played in Milwaukee in the NCAAs in March, 2014 (the first of the back-to-back Final Four years). They opened by beating American in the First Round, a team from the Patriot League. UW opens this time against Colgate…from the Patriot League.

The Midwest Region Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games are in Chicago.
