No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers Dominate Michigan Wolverines

The No. 15 Wisconsin Badgers (21-5, 12-4 B1G) were dominant in the second half of a 77-63 victory over the Michigan Wolverines (14-11, 8-7 B1G) inside the Kohl Center this afternoon.

The story that will unfortunately overshadow the game was in the handshake line when Juwan Howard the Coward threw a punch at Wisconsin assistant coach Joe Krabbenhoft.

It was a classless and pathetic move by Juwan Howard. Howard had his STARTERS in the game against the UW bench, down 19 with 32.4 seconds left and he wanted to cry over a timeout and throw hands in the handshake line. Take your loss and go home…or simply just coach better!

Michigan is lucky the fans didn’t pour down onto the floor and turn this place into the Malace at the Palace II.

This is the second time something like this has happened with Howard. Remember, he had to be restrained from going after Mark Turgeon last year. Absolutely no excuse for that.

Kevin Warren and the Big Ten should act immediately and suspend Howard for this and, so too, should Michigan AD Warde Manuel. Full stop. This can’t be tolerated (again). This is a fireable offense.

Howard was a loser as a player and he’s a loser as a coach.

Michigan’s Moussa Diabate threw punches too. Only thing he hit all game. He should get suspended too.

Seth Davis reacted to the incident via Twitter:

Let me guess, Howard is going to now say someone on Wisconsin or a coach said something racial, since that’s likely the only way he’ll keep his job.

In my opinion: The ugly fight is 100 percent the responsibility of Juwan Howard. Greg Gard should have the responsibility to explain his timeout (I think he was going to do that), Howard didn’t want to hear it, causing a scrum, then throwing a punch — leading to a BIG mess.

As I mentioned earlier, Juwan Howard had Michigan pressing full court. Greg Gard calls a timeout because he already pulled his starters with 32 seconds left in a blowout, and the backups were completely lost breaking the press. Juwan Howard was salty and started the fight during the postgame handshake line. Howard is a clown!

Wisconsin Athletic Director Chris McIntosh has already called Kevin Warren, the Big Ten commissioner. He is pissed and said there’s no place for this at all. McIntosh says UW did not instigate (which they definitely didn’t) and wants swift action from the league.

Howard being a clown escalated the situation. Timeouts don’t start fights. Absolutely inexcusable.

Now going back to the game:

Johnny Davis was amazing and the Badgers did a great job of keeping their composure against some terrible officiating.

This Wisconsin team is damn good and is fun to watch.

Up Next:

The Badgers will take on their arch rival the Minnesota Golden Gophers (13-12, 4-12 B1G) in Minneapolis on Wednesday, February 23rd. Tipoff is set for 8:00 PM (Central Time) and will be televised on the Big Ten Network (BTN).

  1. I agree on all counts. This type of behavior should NEVER be tolerated….period…most especially from a coach that is supposed to be a role model for the players. I still can’t believe what I saw. Shameful.
