UW-Milwaukee Panthers Get Win Over Rival UW-Green Bay Phoenix

The UW-Milwaukee Panthers (9-18, 7-11 Horizon) use a 19-0 run halfway through the second half to take care of business and get a 54-44 victory over their rival the UW-Green Bay Phoenix (4-21, 3-13 Horizon) inside UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

Donovan Newby had another big game for UWM and finished with a team-high 17 points on 5-of-7 from the field, with two assists, two rebounds and two steals.

DeAndre Gholston finished with 12 points, but was just 3-of-12 from the field, including 0-for-4 from beyond the arc, but he was able to hit 6-of-8 at the free throw line.

As a team, UWM made 15-of-44 (34.1%) from the field, 5-of-17 (29.4%) from 3-point range and 19-of-23 (82.6%) at the free throw line. The Panthers had just six assists and 16 turnovers, both are horrible numbers.

The Panthers will host the Cleveland State Vikings (17-6, 13-3 Horizon) inside UWM Panther Arena on Friday, February 18th. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM (Central Time) and will be televised on ESPN+.
