Milwaukee Bucks Defeat Brooklyn Nets in NBA’s Season Opener

Did anyone tell you today that the Milwaukee Bucks are WORLD CHAMPIONS? It feels great today and forever!

On a banner night, the World Champion Milwaukee Bucks (1-0) take down the Brooklyn Nets (0-1) in the season opener, 127-104, inside the Fiserv Forum.

The Bucks were so much better tonight than the Nets with hustle, ball movement, shooting and defense.

The Nets might be overhyped. I know it’s only opening night. James Harden looks out of shape and looked like he doesn’t care.

Jrue Holiday left the game with a right heel contusion and didn’t return.

When Jrue is out an extended period, it’s so noticeable. He does so much on both sides of the ball. I’ll give George Hill more time to get re-acclimated, but like last year, the Bucks could potentially use a solid backup point guard.

Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 32 points on 12-of-25 from the field, including 7-of-9 at the free throw line. The Greek Freak also had 14 rebounds and seven assists.

Khris Middleton and Pat Connaughton each finished with 20 points respectively. Jordan Nwora finished with 15 points, Holiday with 12 and Grayson Allen finished with 10 for the players to score in double-figures.

As a Wisconsin Badgers fan this is hard for me to say, but Grayson Allen is a major upgrade over Bryn Forbes.

I will say this: it was very telling how the NBA feels about the Bucks when the TNT crew was sitting in front of Staples Center instead of being in Milwaukee…..for the ring ceremony…..and the NBA’s first game of the season.

Up Next:

The Bucks will travel to Florida to play the Miami Heat (0-0) on Thursday, October 21st. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM (Central Time).
