The Green Bay Packers have signed fifth-year cornerback Rasul Douglas from the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.
I hope I’m wrong, but I feel like this move could mean that the Jaire Alexander shoulder injury is more serious than what’s being released.
The West Virginia Mountaineer, Douglas, was drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Douglas has played at least 400 snaps in each of the last four seasons, including over 800 last season in Carolina.
BUT since 2019, he has allowed eight touchdown passes with zero interceptions (no that’s not a typo). Quarterback’s also have a 100.0 passer rating when targeting him during that span.
He’s 6’2” with long arms, but he doesn’t run all that well (4.59) and isn’t necessarily quick. Which means he’s a boundary corner only.
