The San José State Spartans (3-2) took down the New Mexico State Aggies (1-5) inside CEFCU Stadium, 37-31, in a game that was much closer than it should have been.

Nick Nash got the start today for SJSU with Nick Starkel injured. Nash completed 14-of-17 passes for 195 yards and three touchdown passes and also rushed for 25 yards.
Senior Tyler Nevins had 22 carries for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Derrick Deese Jr. had seven receptions for 130 yards with a touchdown.
One thing that’s for certain is the defense will need to be much better going forward.
