Green Bay Packers Defeat Pittsburgh Steelers at Lambeau Field

The Green Bay Packers (3-1) get another big early season win as they defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-3), 27-17, at Lambeau Field.

Running backs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon combined for 196 total yards. 129 rushing and 67 receiving.

The Packers will be extremely tough to beat if those two have games like that.

Aaron Rodgers completed 20-of-36 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns, both to Randall Cobb.

Cobb had five receptions for 69 yards to go with the two touchdowns, while Devante Adams had six receptions for 64 yards.

Green Bay’s offensive line has held up pretty good the last two games considering their two best lineman, David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins, haven’t been there. Impressive to say the least.

The Packers did catch a humongous break in the game. Green Bay, leading 14-10 with 20 seconds left in the second quarter, lined up to attempt a field goal. Mason Crosby’s kick was blocked and Pittsburgh ran it back for a touchdown, BUT the officials called offsides on the Steelers so Crosby got a second chance at the field goal and hit it to give Green Bay a 17-10 halftime lead.

Personally, I don’t think Pittsburgh was offside on the blocked attempt. That was a massive 10-point penalty.

In other words, Packers got the benefit of lazy NFL officials “guessing” it was offsides since Pittsburgh was so quickly in the backfield.
