The UW-Milwaukee Panthers men’s basketball program has had a good offseason with getting some highly touted recruits and transfers. There hasn’t been this much hype surrounding the program since the Bruce Pearl days in the early 2000’s.
I think this team has the potential to be very good and make some noise in the NCAA Tournament when March rolls around.
UWM has released the non-conference and Horizon League schedules.
Here’s the non-conference portion of the schedule:
The Panthers open up the season with an exhibition game against the MSOE Raiders on October 30th inside UWM Panther Arena.
UWM opens up the 2021-22 regular season on November 9th in Grand Forks, North Dakota against the North Dakota Fighting Hawks.
The Panthers return home to UWM Panther Arena for the Homecoming game against Eastern Kentucky on November 13th before hitting the road again to take on the Florida Gators in Gainesville on the 18th.
Milwaukee will play in the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off Tournament, which includes Southern Utah, Bowling Green and Yale.
The Panthers will play Bowling Green to open up the tournament on November 23rd and then play either Southern Utah or Yale on November 24th.
Tickets are still available for the tournament if you Panthers fans want to get away from the cold winter weather for a couple days.
UWM will continue non-conference play when they host Alcorn State on November 28th.
Then there’s a game in Boulder, Colorado against the Colorado Buffaloes on December 10th, before wrapping up non-conference at UWM Panther Arena against Rhode Island on December 13th and Saint Xavier (Illinois) on December 23rd.
UWM opens up Horizon League play in early December with two games at UWM Panther Arena against Youngstown State and Robert Morris on December 2nd and 4th respectively.
The Panthers resume Horizon League play in Dayton, Ohio against Wright State on December 30th which is the first of five consecutive conference road games.
The final two games of the Horizon League regular season will be on the road when UWM plays IUPUI and Illinois-Chicago on February 24th and 26th.
The Horizon League Tournament opens up on March 1st. The First Round games on March 1st and the Quarterfinals games on March 3rd will be held at the higher seed’s campus.
The Horizon League Tournament Semifinals and Championship games will be on March 7th and March 8th in Indianapolis, Indiana.
