The Milwaukee Brewers (78-50) lose, 5-1, to the Cincinnati Reds (70-59), and settle for taking two of three from Cincinnati in the series and 10 of 19 in the season series.
With no more head-to-head matchups with the Reds, Milwaukee’s division lead over Cincinnati is 8 1/2 games. The Brewers have 34 games remaining and the Reds have 33 remaining games.
Brett Anderson left the game after four innings with an injury. He doesn’t think the leg issue is serious. “Kind of tweaked my leg/hamstring/hip/groin area just being a non-athlete. It’s kind of frustrating slash embarrassing. But it is what it is,” Anderson said.
Milwaukee was able to get some traffic on the base path late in the game, but the lone run came on a Luis Urias solo home run in the seventh inning.
Milwaukee will begin a three-game series at Target Field against the Minnesota Twins (55-71) tomorrow. First pitch for tomorrow’s game is scheduled for 7:10 PM (Central Time).
Eric Lauer (4-4, 3.59 ERA) will start for Milwaukee.
Andrew Albers (0-0, 2.25 ERA) will start for Minnesota.
