Milwaukee Brewers Win Series Over Pittsburgh Pirates

The Milwaukee Brewers (72-47) take down the Pittsburgh Pirates (42-76) this afternoon, 2-1, inside PNC Park.

Christian Yelich drove in the game winning RBI. Yelich, who has struggled for a majority of the season, is hitting .368 (7-for-19) in his last five games and has at least one hit in every game.

Brent Suter (12-4) picked up the win by throwing a scoreless fifth inning. Since 1990, only Tampa Bay’s Ryan Yarbrough (14 in 2018) has more wins as a reliever than Brent Suter’s 12. Four other relievers also have had 12 wins in a season in that span with the last being Minnesota’s Jesse Crain in 2005.

Josh Hader picked up his 23rd save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning while striking out two batters.

Milwaukee is 25-games over .500. They are 40-20 (.667) on the road this season. Their best road winning percentage in franchise history was in 1982, when they were 47-33 (.588) away from County Stadium.
