The World Champion Milwaukee Bucks (1-0) took down the Los Angeles Clippers (0-1), 81-78, inside Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Summer League opener for both teams.
I really enjoyed some truly low stakes basketball for the first time in about three months.
One thing about this Bucks (summer league) team, they know how to win ugly. I can’t imagine if your 80-1 odds bet on Milwaukee winning the Summer League Title enjoyed that fourth quarter, however.
Jordan Nwora led Milwaukee with 30 points on 12-of-28 from the field and 4-of-13 from 3-point range. The thing I liked most from Nwora tonight was he was making plays for other guys as he had six assists.
Sandro Mamukelashvili can pass as has been advertised. Mamu has a solid professional (summer league) debut, finishing with 12 rebounds and four assists and 11 points on 3-of-8 from the field.
Former Wisconsin Badgers point guard, D’Mitrik Trice, played only six minutes tonight for the Bucks and was 0-for-1 from the field.
The Milwaukee Bucks play the Brooklyn Nets (0-1) on Wednesday, August 11. Tipoff is set for 3:00 PM (Central Time) and will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
The Bucks/Nets Eastern Conference Semifinals rematch should be a barn burner.
