Tampa Bay Lightning Take 3-0 Series Lead in Stanley Cup Final

The Tampa Bay Lightning get a 6-3 win in Game 3 over the Montreal Canadiens inside the Bell Centre to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final!

Here are the final stats from tonight:

Victor Hedman said that the Bolts would bring it tonight. Lightning did what Hedman said they’d do and they’re one win away from bringing the Stanley Cup back to Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay’s defenseman were terrific tonight. They didn’t give up much in front on rebounds and killed rushes at the blueline.

Tyler Johnson scored a pair of goals tonight. Blake Coleman, Nikita Kucherov, Jan Rutta and Victor Hedman all scored a goal.

The Lightning now have 69 wins in the playoffs since their 2015 run, which is 27 (!) more than the second highest NHL team.

I’d say 9.9 playoff wins a season is, pretty good…

Victor Hedman on coming within one win of hoisting the Stanley Cup for the second straight season: “We need to win one more game. We put ourselves in a good position obviously. The fourth one is the hardest one to win.”

Up Next:

Game 4 from the Bell Centre will be on Monday, July 5. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 PM (Central Time) and will be nationally televised on NBC.
