The Milwaukee Bucks take down the Atlanta Hawks, 123-112, in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals inside the Fiserv Forum. Milwaukee now has a 3-2 series lead.
The Bucks have given themselves an opportunity to advance to the NBA Finals in ….. Game 6!
I’ll give credit to Mike Budenholzer on putting together a decent game plan tonight. However, playing Jeff Teague is a fireable offense. I still want Bud gone whenever this season comes to a finish, whenever and however that may be.
For me, the biggest difference tonight was the energy from the Bucks.
I can’t say enough about Brook Lopez tonight. He had possibly the game of his career when his team needed him the most. Lopez finished with 33 points on 14-of-18 from the field in 38 minutes.
Jrue Holiday had a great bounce back game after a rough outing in Game 4. Holiday finished with 25 points on 9-of-20 from the field and 13 assists.
Khris Middleton stepped up, which was a pleasant surprise to see. Middleton finished with 26 points on 10-of-20 from the field and grabbed 13 rebounds in 45 minutes.
Bobby Portis finished with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals in his first career playoff start.
The starters tonight were pretty good.
My general vibe and posture while watching any Bucks game:
I’m almost certain I’ve played Black Jack adjacent to this man at 2 AM at Potawatomi Casino.
Game 6 between the Bucks and Hawks will be on Saturday, July 3 from State Farm Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM (Central Time) and will be nationally televised on TNT.
The Bucks have given themselves the opportunity to have two chances to win one game to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1974.
