Milwaukee Brewers Sweep Rival Chicago Cubs

The Milwaukee Brewers (48-33) sweep the I-94 rivalry series against the Chicago Cubs (42-39) at American Family Field with a 15-7 win this afternoon!

The Brewers are a season high 15-games over .500 and sweep the Cubs for the first time since 2017.

Six days ago, the Brewers and Cubs were tied for first place in the NL Central. The Brewers are now six games ahead of the Cubs.

I’d like to thank the Cubs fans for making the trip to American Family Field the last three days to help out our economy and local businesses and with ticket and concession sales.

Aaron Ashby got the start for Milwaukee, making his major league debut today and it did not go the way he or the Brewers planned. Ashby lasted only 2/3 of an inning and allowed seven runs on four hits and three walks.

The Brewers bullpen was great the rest of the day.

I’ve always said, if you can score two unanswered touchdowns in a baseball game, you gotta do it. Chicago’s mistake was going to the prevent defense in the first quarter.

Luis Urias went 4-for-5 with two home runs.

Willy Adames went 1-for-3 with a grand slam, two walks and three runs scored.

Jace Peterson went 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBI.

Up Next:

The Brewers have a four-game series starting tomorrow at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where they’ll play the Pirates (29-50). First pitch for tomorrow is scheduled for 6:05 PM (Central Time).

Corbin Burnes (3-4, 2.53 ERA) was pushed back a day and will start tomorrow for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Wil Crowe (1-4, 6.50 ERA) is scheduled to get the start for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
