The Milwaukee Brewers (33-26) took down the Arizona Diamondbacks (20-41), 2-0, this afternoon inside American Family Field to complete the four-game sweep.
Corbin Burnes (3-4) pitched another beauty, going seven shutout innings and striking out a career-high 13.
Postgame Burnes said: “This was by far the best I felt all year. Body, arm, stuff coming out of the hand. There wasn’t a point that we felt ‘stuck’ today.”
With Josh Hader unavailable today, Brad Boxberger recorded his second save of the season.
Luis Urias went 2-for-4 today, the only Brewer to have a multi-hit game. Tyrone Taylor and Daniel Robertson each hit solo home runs.
It’s so sad to watch Keston Hiura hit. He went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts. One of his plate appearances there were three fastballs right down the middle and couldn’t touch one.
The Brewers have an open date tomorrow before starting a three-game road trip against the Reds in Cincinnati on Tuesday. First pitch for Tuesday’s game is set for 6:10 PM (Central Time).
