The Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets tipoff Game 1 of this Eastern Conference Semifinals series on Saturday, June 5, with tip being set for 6:30 PM (Central Time) and being nationally televised on TNT.
The NBA hasn’t announced the dates and times yet for Games 2 through 7, however. The NBA needs to get on it so I can plan my schedule around the games!
This is one of the most anticipated series matchups in a while for the NBA.
I’m sort of ready to make my predictions for this series.
Basically in a snapshot: Milwaukee will struggle to defend Brooklyn, but I cannot comprehend and don’t see a way how Brooklyn can defend Milwaukee, especially at the rim. The Nets are god awful on the defensive end.
I’m sure Milwaukee will rotate a number of guys on the Nets “Big 3.”
- Jrue Holiday, Pat Connaughton and PJ Tucker will likely rotate time on Kyrie Irving.
- Holiday, Connaughton, Tucker and Khris Middleton will likely spend time defending James Harden
- Giannis Antetokounmpo, Middleton and Tucker will likely rotate time defending Kevin Durant.
- Bucks will keep Brook Lopez on Blake Griffin/Nets worst shooter.
I could see Brooklyn going a lot of small ball to get Lopez out of the game if Milwaukee stays man.
One thing I’m terrified about is whether Mike Budenholzer will be able to make the necessary adjustments to Brooklyn’s adjustments. As you all know, I’m not the biggest Bud fan, but he did coach a heck of a series against Miami in the first round. Could he be growing as a coach? Or is it one of those “a broke clock is right twice a day” type of series for him against Miami?
This is a legacy altering series for Giannis and it’s a huge opportunity for him.
Deer District will be rockin’ this series.
Bucks in six.
I’ll go even further and predict that Milwaukee wins games 1, 3, 4 and 6, to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals at home.
