The Milwaukee Bucks will be without their starting guard for the remainder of the 2021 playoffs.
Donte DiVincenzo left the game in the first half in last night’s game with what they called a “left foot contusion.” However, this morning it has been announced that he suffered a serious tendon injury in his left foot.
This is a significant blow for both DiVincenzo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite getting slander on social media, DiVincenzo played a major role for the Bucks.
This will be a much bigger loss for the Bucks when they presumably play the Brooklyn Nets in the Second Round. Losing him is a defensive blow.
You also have to wonder if this injury is serious enough that Donte misses the 2021-22 season as well. Not much info being released on the injury. This could be terrible timing for Donte from a contract standpoint.
As far as a lineup standpoint the rest of the way, I wouldn’t mind moving Khris Middleton to the 2 and inserting PJ Tucker in the starting lineup at the 3.
Here’d be my starting five as of right now:
- Jrue Holiday
- Khris Middleton
- PJ Tucker
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Brook Lopez
Donte was mostly utilized for his defense, so PJ can keep the production there. Bryn Forbes and Bobby Portis can run the bench unit.
