The Milwaukee Bucks dominated the Miami Heat from the jump tonight in a 113-84 win in Florida. Milwaukee now has a 3-0 series lead.
The game really never felt in doubt once Milwaukee went up by double-digits early in the game.
Khris Middleton finished with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 17 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Jrue Holiday finished with 19 points, 3 rebounds and 12 assists.
It was a heck of a performance by the Milwaukee defense tonight. The intensity on that end of the floor tonight was a lot of fun to watch tonight. Just a heck of a performance by the defense.
Side note: I watched the game on Bally Sports Wisconsin, but how pathetic was it that TNT had a free throw clock on Giannis tonight.
I had never seen a Mike Budenholzer game plan in Milwaukee like tonight. Targeting on both ends. It was great to see the team locked in for the entire game on both ends. Could Bud be making progress as a coach, making adjustments in the playoffs?
Milwaukee had an answer for everything tonight. Just a beautiful thing to see. Totally locked in.
I will say, Mike Budenholzer has done a great job coaching so far in this series. And those of you that know me, know that I’m not a big Bud fan. My only criticism of Bud so far this series is that he isn’t working the refs at all. Less than normal. Especially in the first two games, there were a ton of bad calls and I never saw him in anyone’s ear.
There was one point in the second half tonight where I thought to myself: “Bucks are on a mission.” The best way to describe it is Milwaukee wants Miami out of the ring. The Bucks posted Brook Lopez on Jimmy Butler on purpose.
Let’s not act like game 1 didn’t happen though. Miami had the Bucks right back in the mud, Milwaukee survived and have taken off these last two games.
Another side note: PJ Tucker makes me feel like I could run through a wall. I want him back in a Bucks uniform in 2021-22.
I love that blowouts now feature our promising young players instead of DJ Wilson.
I have a question: Has anyone ever talked more trash and done less to back it up in NBA history than Jimmy Butler?
I wonder how the “Locked On Heat” podcast guy is doing. He’s been stressed since game 2’s defeat after talking a lot of trash and hasn’t been talking much tonight. Should I run his podcast tonight?
Donte DiVincenzo did leave the game in the first half, which was announced as a “left foot contusion.” Mike Budenholzer didn’t share any new information postgame.
Can we get #BucksCulture trending on social media?!?!
Milwaukee will look to sweep the series. Game 4 is on Saturday, May 29 from AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:30 PM (Central Time) and will be nationally televised on TNT.
