All I have to say is: Wow! The Milwaukee Bucks were a steam engine tonight.
The Bucks came out of the gates and jumped all over the Miami Heat, leading 46-20 after 12 minutes of play.
The Bucks were locked in tonight and they never looked back, winning the game 132-98 to take a 2-0 series lead.
The Fiserv Forum was rockin’ tonight, or as the youth say….it was lit.
Jrue Holiday finished with 15 assists, which is the most in a playoff game by a Milwaukee Buck since TJ Ford had 15 in 2006. As I wrote on Saturday, the Holiday investment has paid off in the first two playoff games.
The Bucks also made 22 3-pointers, a new franchise high in the playoffs. Milwaukee also handed Miami their second worst playoff defeat in their franchise history.
Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with a game-high 31 points on 12-of-23 from the field and 6-of-7 at the free throw line. The Greek Freak also grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out six assists.
Bryn Forbes scored 22 points on 8-of-12 from the field, including hitting 6-of-9 3-pointers.
I never thought I’d see a Elijah Bryant, Sam Merrill, Jordan Nwora, Pat Connaughton, and Mamadi Diakite lineup for Milwaukee with 6:55 left in a playoff game. But I’m happy I was able to tonight!
The Bucks need to at minimum split the two games in Miami. Erik Spoelstra will have the Heat ready to play, so they can’t come out flat in either game.
Game 3 between these two teams will be on Thursday, May 27 from AmericanAirlines Arena. Tipoff is set for 6:30 PM (Central Time) and will be nationally televised on TNT.
