The Milwaukee Brewers (11-7) took down the San Diego Padres (10-10), 4-2, today at Petco Park in the series finale.
The Brewers sweep the Padres in San Diego without Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain and Kolten Wong. Three total runs allowed in three games and no runs against the Brewers bullpen! (PS- Sweet sassy molassy).
The Crew have won four of the first six series to start the year and have won all three on the road.
Omar Narvaez led Milwaukee’s offense, going 2-for-4 with a dinger, two RBI and two runs scored.
Jace Peterson also went yard today, going 2-for-3 with the other two RBI.
Adrian Houser got the start today, but only lasted 4 2/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks.
Brent Suter earned the win today, pitching 1 1/3 innings after taking over for Houser, and struck out four batters.
Josh Hader earned his third save of the season, but didn’t make it easy on himself as San Diego had runners on second and third in the bottom of the ninth, but Hader was able to strike out Eric Hosmer to end the game.
The Milwaukee Brewers will have an open date tomorrow, before traveling to Chicago to play the Cubs at Wrigley Field for three games.
Friday’s game is set for 1:20 PM (Central Time).
Good news is that Craig Counsell announced postgame today that Kolten Wong will be reinstated from the IL and in the lineup for Friday’s game against the Cubs.
