San Jose State Hockey Club in Search for New Head Coach

The San Jose State University Hockey Club will be looking for a new head coach.

Now former head coach, Mike Janda, has left his position as the head man of the SJSU program to become the head coach and general manager of the Chippewa Steel of the NAHL in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

Janda became the head coach at SJSU on November 10, 2018 and opened his Spartan career with a 5-1 home win over rival Santa Clara and then a 4-3 road win over California.

The Spartans didn’t play in 2020-21 due to the coronavirus problems.

Janda leaves SJSU with a 19-19-3 record with the Spartans that included two trips to the PAC-8 playoffs in South Lake Tahoe, California.

I’m curious as to who the next head coach will be. Former SJSU Hockey legend, Salvatore Barranco, has my vote to be the next man in charge of the program.
