The Wisconsin Badgers and Baylor Bears will tipoff at 1:40 PM (Central Time) tomorrow at Butler’s Hinkle Fieldhouse. Game will be televised on CBS.
Tomorrow will be Wisconsin’s first trip to Hinkle Fieldhouse since 1990. The Badgers are 4-6 all-time at the historic venue. It’s supposed to be sunny tomorrow in Indy, which means light streaming in and hitting the court.
Wisconsin opened up as 6-point underdogs vs Baylor per Bovada.
After Wisconsin faced one of the top rebounding teams in the country, the Badgers now face the best perimeter shooting team in the nation. Baylor leads the NCAA in 3-point shooting, averaging 41.4 percent as a team beyond the perimeter. Baylor was 11-for-33 in last nights first round win over Hartford.
This game will depend on who gets their styles across. Baylor likes to run (much like North Carolina) and Wisconsin likes to grind it out.
While North Carolina relies heavily on their front court, the Bears rely heavily on their backcourt with All-Americans Jared Butler (17.0 ppg, 4.9 assists), Davion Mitchell (14.0 ppg, 5.3 assists) and MaCio Teague (16.4 ppg, 4.2 rebounds).
Wisconsin and Baylor have met twice before, each team winning a game. In the first ever meeting, the 2-seeded Badgers took down the 6-seeded Bears in the 2014 Sweet 16 in Anaheim, 69-52. Then Baylor got their revenge in November 2017 in Kansas City, winning 70-65.
