To no surprise, the San José State Spartans men’s basketball team lost to the Wyoming Cowboys, 111-80, this afternoon in the First Round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament.
It was yet another game where SJSU was not competitive at all, something that has become the norm over the past four seasons under Jean Prioleau.
The Spartans conclude the 2020-21 season with a 5-16 record overall.
Richard Washington led SJSU with 18 points, but was 5-of-18 from the field and 1-of-7 from 3-point range. He was 7-of-7 at the foul line.
Omari Moore finished with 15 points and Ralph Agee added 10 points.
The Spartans shot 42.4 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from 3-point range. But Wyoming countered with shooting 59.7 percent from the field.
I wrote a blog about it a couple weeks ago, but it’s time for SJSU and Jean Prioleau to part ways. Prioleau has one season left (2021-22) on his contract.
