UW-Milwaukee Loses To Cleveland State in Horizon League Tournament Semifinals

The UW-Milwaukee Panthers (10-12) fall short in the Horizon League Tournament Semifinals, losing to top-seeded Cleveland State (18-7), 71-65, in Indianapolis.

The Panthers led for over 30 minutes in this game, but the offense went cold the final two minutes and Cleveland State finished the game on a 10-1 over the final 1:54.

Barring an invite to the College Basketball Invitational (CBI), the Panthers season is over.

Disappointing finish to an up and down season for the Panthers.

Josh Thomas and Amir Allen played their tails off. Thomas finished with a game-high 25 points on 12-of-19 from the field and six rebounds.

Allen finished with 8 points, but had 15 rebounds and played great defensively.

DeAndre Gholston finished with 10 points, but was never quite right, going 4-of-12 from the field.

This one will sting for a while for UWM coaches, players and fans.

Up Next:

We won’t know for sure until Sunday. But it’ll either be the off-season or an invite to the CBI.
