The Milwaukee Bucks (21-13) got a big win against the Los Angeles Clippers (24-12) this afternoon inside the Fiserv Forum, 105-100.
The Bucks didn’t make it easy on themselves, however. After building an 11-point lead halfway through the third quarter, the Bucks offense went cold and the Clippers went on a 26-11 run to end the quarter to take a 81-77 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Bucks kept it close in the fourth quarter before making some timely stops down the stretch and making some key buckets. The Bucks finished the game on a 9-0 run over the final 4:01.
A monster dunk by Giannis Antetokounmpo with 10 seconds left put the Bucks up 103-100 and put the Clippers in a tough spot.
The Bucks defense forced a Kawhi Leonard miss and a Khris Middleton rebound and two free throws sealed the deal.
Antetokounmpo scored a game-high 36 points on 15-of-27 from the field with 14 rebounds and five assists.
Middleton finished with 19 points, but on 6-of-14 from the field.
Donte DiVincenzo finished with 11 points and Brook Lopez added 10.
I’ll hold off on the “Fire Budenholzer” train for today.
The Bucks will welcome the Denver Nuggets (18-15) to the Fiserv Forum on Tuesday, March 2. Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM (Central Time).
