The Milwaukee Brewers and Travis Shaw are having a reunion as the club and Shaw have agreed to a minor league contract.
Shaw played three seasons with Milwaukee (2017-2019) before playing with Toronto in the 2020 shortened season where he hit .239 for the Blue Jays.
Shaw had a career year at the plate in 2017 for the Brewers and had a solid year at the plate in 2018 before having his worst year of his career offensively in 2019 where he had a batting average of .157 and on base percentage of .281.
In the three years with the Brewers he had a split of .239/.335/.790 (AVG/OBP/OPS).
I am all in on this pick up. It’s a low risk, high reward, scenario from Shaw here. Let’s hope he can be even half of what he was in 2017 and 2018 and the Brewers will be just fine at third base.
