The 11th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers (12-8-0, 10-5-0) men’s hockey team took down the 2nd-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers (15-4-0, 11-4-0) tonight, 4-1, in Minneapolis!
Wisconsin jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Cole Caufield 1:04 into the game.
Sammy Walker tied up the game for Minnesota with a goal 8:01 into the second period.
The Badgers then scored three unanswered goals in the third period from Cole Caufield, Dylan Holloway and Roman Ahcan to win the game 4-1.
UW has won six of their last seven games and are now within one game of first place Minnesota in the Big Ten standings. Badgers lead the season series 2-1 over Minnesota.
The Badgers and Gophers will play tomorrow in a very important game for both teams. Game time is set for 7:00 PM (Central Time). Game will be televised on Fox Sports Wisconsin Plus as well as Fox Sports North Plus.
