Green Bay Packers part ways with Special Teams Coordinator Shawn Mennenga

The Green Bay Packers conducted exit interviews with the coordinators, position coaches and players yesterday. LaFleur met individually with coordinators Mike Pettine, Shawn Mennenga and Nathaniel Hackett.

Well, the first domino has fallen. Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers have parted ways with special teams coordinator, Shawn Mennenga.

Mennenga has been the Packers special teams coach for the past two seasons and his units have ranked near the bottom of the NFL both seasons.

As far as the replacement? Rob Demovsky says it will probably come from within.

Rob Demovsky noted the deal with Mike Pettine:

Most coordinators/position coaches typically always have two years on their contract, but Pettine chose not to sign an extension after the 2019 season, meaning he chose to go into 2020 (last year of his contract) and see how things played out.
