Two days after losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship game and putting social media and the “experts” on television on fire, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee show today. And it appears he doesn’t see any “reason why he wouldn’t” return to Green Bay in 2021.
“I don’t feel like I said anything I hadn’t said before. I said it the first time I talked to the media (after Green Bay drafted Jordan Love). It was more of a realization I think that ultimately is not necessarily in my control. I think that kind of hit me in the moment,” Rodgers said on the show today. “Obviously after the season I had, potentially winning MVP, we obviously made another great run, I don’t think there is any reason why I wouldn’t be back. But there’s not many absolutes, as you guys know, in this business. To make an absolute statement about something that is not an absolute I didn’t do it. I guess that’s why it went kind of nuts.”
