After a poor defensive effort on Monday against Maryland, the Wisconsin Badgers (9-2, 3-1) led wire-to-wire in a 71-59 win over the No. 21 Minnesota Golden Gophers (9-2, 2-2).
Wisconsin shot 30-for-59 (50.8%) from the field, 6-of-15 (40%) from 3-point range, but were just 5-of-8 (62.5%) from the free throw line. UW only had nine turnovers.
UW held Minnesota to 31.2 percent shooting from the field and 22.6 percent from 3-point range.
Three players scored in double-figures for the Badgers. Micah Potter scored a game-high 18 points, while Aleem Ford and D’Mitrik Trice each scored 14 respectively.
It’s the third win of the season against an AP Top 25 team for UW.
It must really suck to be a Minnesota basketball fan. Their arch-rival takes the best players from the state of Minnesota and beats the Gophers with them.
A lot has changed in 2020…..but one thing you can count on: Wisconsin beating Minnesota.
