Big news coming out of the San Jose State men’s basketball program.
Seneca Knight has decided to opt out of the remainder of the 2020-21 season due to coronavirus concerns.
Knight is SJSU’s best player. He was averaging 9.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game through five games this year.
SJSU has gotten off to a 1-4 start, including 0-2 in Mountain West play, and haven’t been competitive in any games other than their 87-79 season opening victory over Fresno Pacific. SJSU has lost by an average of 28.75 points in their four defeats.
While I absolutely respect Knight’s decision over the virus concerns, I think there’s more to it than just the virus. Don’t be surprised if he decides to transfer.
Head Coach Jean Prioleau is in year number four (of a five year contract) at the helm of the program and has a 16-81 (.165) overall record and 5-51 (.089) record in Mountain West regular season play.
I think you can see where I’m going with this….
