The Big Ten Conference announced the matchups for next Saturday’s games in the Big Ten “Champions Week.”
The Wisconsin Badgers (2-3) will host the Minnesota Golden Gophers (3-3) on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM (CT) and will be televised on Big Ten Network (BTN).
The longest and most played rivalry game in College Football will continue. The original matchup between the two programs was scheduled for November 28, but that game was canceled due to rising cases of the coronavirus within the Minnesota program. But fortunately, we get to see the battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe this upcoming Saturday!
Here are all the matchups for Big Ten Champions Week:
In other Big Ten Football news, this morning the University of Illinois Fighting Illini and Lovie Smith agreed to part ways.
Smith took over the Illini program in 2016 and was in charge of a major rebuild. Smith was able to recruit some decent players and get some decent transfers into the program, but after talking with some Illini fans at Levi Stadium in their bowl game against California last December, they all said “He hasn’t been able to develop players,” which I mostly agree with.
Lovie Smith went 17-39 in 5 seasons as the head man in Champaign. Illinois made it to just one bowl game in his tenure. His best season was last season (2019) where they went 6-7 and lost 35-20 to California in the Redbox Bowl.
Golden Gophers in a BLOWOUT!!!
