Just hours before kickoff, the San Jose State football game at Boise State has been canceled due to COVID-19 issues with the Boise State program.
The Mountain West said in a release: “Due to an upward trend of COVID-19 cases and contact tracing within the Boise State football program, the Broncos are unable to participate in the scheduled football games on Saturday, November 28, vs San Jose State. Therefore, the Mountain West in canceling the game and declaring it a no contest. There is no plan to reschedule the game.”
This is the second straight game for San Jose State that has been canceled due to COVID-19 issues at the opponent’s school. Last weeks rivalry game against Fresno State was canceled due to one positive test within the Bulldogs program and contact tracing.
The Spartans will host Hawaii and Nevada to close out the season. The game against Nevada will likely decide who advances to the Mountain West Championship game.
SJSU’s next game is against Hawaii next Saturday, December 5, at 3:00 PM (CT) / 1:00 PM (PT).
