Today was not a good day for Maccabi Tel Aviv. Tel Aviv lost to Real Madrid 79-63 and saw their record fall to 3-6 in EuroLeague play.
It’s Maccabi Tel Aviv’s 10th straight loss at Real Madrid. The last time they won there was during the 2009-10 season.
Maccabi came into the game averaging over 80 points per game in EuroLeague play. The offense was just never able to get going.
Scottie Wilbekin was the only player to score in double figures for Tel Aviv, as he finished with 18 points.
Angelo Caloiaro was held scoreless in 24 minutes of action on two shots. Caloiaro did have three rebounds and one assist.
In the first seven games of EuroLeague play, the average margin in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s games were decided by 8.43 points, with five games being decided by four points or less.
These kinds of games happen to every team where they just didn’t have it. Tel Aviv needs to keep grinding it out until they get over the hump and start climbing to the top of the mountain.
Maccabi Tel Aviv will next play on Friday, November 20, against Valencia. Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM (CT).
