The Wisconsin Badgers search for a shooting guard in the 2021 recruiting class continues after Louis Lesmond committed to Harvard on Saturday. Prior to Lesmond committing to Harvard, Julian Roper committed to Northwestern.
One thing we’ve learned is that Greg Gard and the Wisconsin Badgers is they don’t make offers lightly. While they haven’t always gotten their “Plan A” guy, the past few classes Gard has done far better at identifying who to go after and who to offer.
The 2020 recruiting class that will be freshman this season was put together nicely by Greg Gard and staff. The 2021 class has the potential to be even better. The only thing that is slowing down the 2021 class from being the best ever that UW has had is what to do with the last spot in that class.
In the 2021 recruiting class, UW currently has 4-star point guar Chucky Hepburn from Bellevue, Nebraska, 4-star stretch forward Matthew Mors from Yankton, South Dakota and 4-star post player Chris Hodges from Schaumburg, Illinois that has verbally committed. And you guessed it, the one thing missing is a stud knock down shooter from the perimeter.
The good news is the Badgers can be picky and don’t necessarily have to throw an offer at a player just to throw an offer at him.
