Nearly everyone who thinks that the Green Bay Packers draft/draft strategy was horrible have the same thing in common: They think the Packers were one or two players short and one game away from being Super Bowl contenders.
Go back and watch every game from last season. Remember how no one could figure out how they went 13-3 (14-4 including playoffs)?
No one could figure it out because the reality is they weren’t that good and they had a few breaks go their way. Gutekunst and LaFleur know that they can’t duplicate last seasons “success” even if they added pieces.
I’m almost certain most people don’t remember that there once was a Packer GM/HC named Mike Sherman who drafted a guy named BJ Sander in the third round. BJ Sander was a punter and lasted ONE season in the NFL. This draft isn’t as bad as you think it is.
I’m not saying the Packers drafted everyone I wanted. But stop treating it like the Packers traded to be in the top 3 to get Trubisky.
