The Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Northwestern Wildcats, 63-48, Wednesday Night at the Kohl Center.
Nate Reuvers led UW with 11 points, while Brevin Pritzl, Allen Ford, Brad Davison and Micah Potter each contributed 9 points respectively.
When opportunity knocks, you’ve got to answer. That’s exactly what the Badgers did. With the win, UW moved into a three-way tie for first place with Michigan State and Maryland.
UW can clinch at minimum a share of the Big Ten regular season for the first time since 2015 with a victory over Indiana (19-11, 9-10) on Saturday in Bloomington. Wisconsin is 1-2 against Indiana in Assembly Hall under Greg Gard.
Wisconsin also secured a double bye in the Big Ten Tournament next week, but they’re looking for more.
The Wisconsin offense tonight got a little stagnant at times, but the defense picked up the offense and played at an elite level the way UW is known to play on the defensive end.
UW improves to 20-10 overall and 13-6 in Big Ten play. Tip-off on Saturday is at 11:00 AM (CT) and will be aired on ESPN.
Head Coach Greg Gard also picked up his 100th career win tonight.
