The disastrous season (and tenure for Jean Prioleau for that matter) continues for San Jose State Men’s Basketball as the Spartans lost in Reno to the Nevada Wolf Pack by a final of 95-77.
Sophomore Seneca Knight scored a career-high 34 points. Richard Washington added 16 points.
The Spartans shot 25-of-61 (41.0%) from the field, 8-of-32 (25.0%) from 3-point range, and 19-for-22 (86.4%) from the free throw line. However, the Spartans were out-rebounded 43-29 and allowed 11 offensive rebounds. SJSU also lost the turnover battle 11-10.
The loss drops San Jose State to 7-17 overall and 3-9 in Mountain West play.
The season started off with a great road win in Hempstead, New York over Hofstra to open the season, but since that shocking upset, the Spartans “are who we thought they were” since Prioleau has been at the helm. Prioleau is in year three of a five-year contract and has a 15-70 (.177) overall and 5-43 (.104) MWC record.
SJSU hosts arch-rival Fresno State on Wednesday at the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM (PT).
