The San Jose State Spartans men’s basketball team was held to 30 percent shooting from the field in a 78-58 loss to Stanford at the Provident Credit Union Event Center.
In the first half, SJSU had two different long scoring droughts, one that lasted 8:00 and the other of 6:15. The Spartans shot 4-of-22 (18.2%) from the field in the first 20 minutes, although they were 10-for-12 (83.3%) at the free throw line in the first half.
Seneca Knight led SJSU in scoring with 12 points. Brey Ivey had 11 points.
With the loss, SJSU falls to 3-8 overall after the sixth consecutive defeat.
The Spartans will travel to Santa Clara on Wednesday to take on their cross-town rival the Santa Clara Broncos. Tip-off is set for 7:00 pm (PT).
