Wisconsin lost to Richmond 62-52 in the semi-finals of the Legends Classic in Brooklyn tonight.
with 9:56 left in the game, Nate Reuvers hit two free throws to give the Badgers a 47-45 lead over the Spiders. But after that, Wisconsin missed nine of their final 10 shots and turned the ball over four times as they fell for the second time this season on a neutral court.
Wisconsin’s shooting woes were a night long issue. UW was 7-for-27 from beyond the arc. That included Aleem Ford, Brad Davison, and D’Mitrik Trice going 4-for-21 from the field and 2-of-13 from three-point range.
The Badgers also turned the ball over 15 times, which was a season high and are now averaging 12.3 turnovers per game through six games this season. UW had five games all of last season where they turned the ball over 13 or more times, so far they’ve done that three times this year.
Reuvers finished with a team-high 17 points and seven rebounds. Kobe King was the only other player in double figures scoring 10.
Richmond got a game-high 19 points from Blake Francis, while Grant Golden added 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Wisconsin will play New Mexico tomorrow at the Barclays Center. Tip-off is set for 4:00 pm (CT).
