UW’s Chris Orr named Big Ten DPOW

Wisconsin’s defense was the reason why it won this past Saturday against Northwestern.

Linebacker Chris Orr was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week today after he had nine tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble in the victory over Northwestern.

Orr is part of a UW defense that leads the nation in a number of categories through four games, including scoring defense, total defense, rush defense, third-down defense, and pass-efficiency rating.

The Senior is the first Badger to win the award since linebacker Leon Jacobs earned the honor in November 2017.

The Badgers will look to continue the winning ways this Saturday where they host Kent State at Camp Randall Stadium.
