Olive Sagapolu and his backflips are staying in Wisconsin.
This morning, reports started to circulate that the former Badger had signed with the Packers and is attending training camp wearing No. 67.
Sagapolu made a name for himself early in his career at UW when a video of him doing a backflip from a standstill position on the beach went viral.
Over four seasons with the Badgers, Sagapolu played in 44 games with 26 starts. He recorded 61 tackles, 10 for loss, and six sacks. Sagapolu also had one interception and he had one fumble recovery, and was a member of the senior class that went 42-12 (.778), including 27-8 (.771) in Big Ten play and a 4-0 record in Bowl Games.
He went into the NFL Draft with some questions surrounding his health. During his final year in Madison, Sagapolu missed the final five games after suffering an injury during Wisconsin’s October 27th matchup with Northwestern.
Sagapolu, like several of his Wisconsin teammates, shockingly ended up going undrafted in April, and not much was heard where they’d all end up until now. As SB Nation reported, Sagapolu will “presumably compete with Tyler Lancaster and Deon Simon for the backup nose tackle job behind Kenny Clark.”
