The Santa Clara High Softball team took down their arch-rival Wilcox Thursday afternoon, 13-7.
“It was a well fought game,” Head Coach Julie Kawamoto said after the game. “Everyone contributed. Our defense was solid and our girls’ bats were on fire. The last few games of this season have been really exciting and we hope to battle our last league opponent (Mountain View on Tuesday) with the same intensity.”
The Bruins were led by Victoria Latz at the plate who went 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI. Rachelle Martin-Vera went 3-for-5, driving in two. Abigail Klahold also had three hits on the day.
Victoria Latz went the distance on the mound to pick up the win.
The victory puts Santa Clara at 9-12 overall and 2-9 in league play. The regular season finale is a home game on Tuesday against Mountain View.
